THAT BEING SAID, what a great way to kick off the day by exploring a true piece of American history!! It pairs well with most drink selections and charcuterie boards and is the perfect pregame to whatever activities you may have planned for the day! OR the perfect end of day activity as you wind down before bed, and then maybe again tomorrow while recovering from whatever goes on today!!

ALSO, I thought it might be fun to do a bit of an Easter egg hunt/CONTEST with this, by which I mean, if you decide to check it out and can identify WHICH transition is my favorite, take a pic or screenshot of where you think that is and DM it to me with a short description such as "where the scene transitions from THAT shot to THIS shot." Doesn't need to be exact, just close enough!! AND, for whoever guesses it right first, I will send ONE 8x12 high quality PRINT on FUJI Crystal Archive paper MOUNTED on aluminum ready to hang of the main photo used for ALL the posters (3rd photo in this set) as well as one REAL original UTICA STATE HOSPITAL postcard from 1905 (4th/5th photo)!! Altogether with printing/shipping etc that's right around a $100 raw dollar value, like actual money out of my pocket according to the receipts not just my own feelings on the value 😄

NEXT FRIDAY JULY 4TH 2025, in what I can only assume will be the biggest blockbuster of the summer, I will be releasing my first ever DOCUMENTARY titled "HIDDEN HISTORY UNLOCKED presents UTICA" featuring UTICA STATE HOSPITAL!!!

This documentary is IMDB official and will be LIVE on APPLE and AMAZON and for less than a cup of coffee or a PBR at most bars! (also currently in talks about getting this on a few other streaming services including free ones but that is TBD at this time).

This is an idea that I have arguably been working towards since 2010 when I made my first rather hilarious attempt at something similar (maybe I'll post some embarrassing video from that at some point). However, even though that first attempt did not succeed, it did succeed just enough to make it to a point in the process where the idea at least seemed somewhat possible (story for another time). HOWEVER, fast forward to 2021 and the idea resurfaced again and managed to actually get some better traction this time, and I have been quietly working towards this point (with plenty of starts and stops) ever since.

This is also quite possibly the hardest thing I have ever tried to do, so, hopefully it doesn't suck!! But at least I do know that it was good enough to get this far, past multiple 3rd party checks and other potential barriers, and it is out of my hands now!! ALSO, I did not do this all by myself, I had help from talented friends along the way such as @quentonhamlin , @mulysa_morgue , @iweger and even a bit guest footage from @insanectuary in the trailer along with a number of others who contributed in one way or another. I should also mention that DR. KIRKBRIDE @robertkirkbride has generously lent his time to parts of this project such as appearing in the above series trailer although he will not specifically be making an appearance in this first documentary release.

Which leads me to my next point...

Back in 2007 on a very spontaneous whim I drove down to New York, met up with complete strangers on Long Island, partied at their house until the wee hours of the morning until ultimately crashing there for the rest of the night only to get up at the crack of noon the next day and go exploring which included hopping a fairly tall fence at the time (twice) and climbing a skimpy tree up to the second floor in order to get into the famous 93. If there's still one redeemable quality left in this sport it's that for the most part you can still meet up with complete randos and explore sketchy stuff like you've known each other for years. But man, 2007, what a time to be alive 🤣

Built in 1898, Gray Gables served as the original nurses home at Danvers State Hospital. Later on in it's decline, it would serve as a convenient way to sneak into the main Kirkbride as it had an original tunnel into the main building from it's basement. Scroll to the right for a shot of this tunnel, as well as a shot of my dismay finding it bricked up and my sick flip phone 😆 #tbt

First time I came here, I used printed out directions from mapquest, had to reset the trip odometer after every turn in order to sort of know when the next turn was, almost drove off the road 8 or 9 times, and then got slightly lost trying to follow the same directions in reverse to get home 😆 #tbt

Also fun fact, there used to be a security gaurd who would roam the tunnels and leave threatening messages on the walls to would be explorers, and the would be explorers would sometimes write back, never ran into the guy though.
